Dhahran city is noted for housing the largest oil company in the world, the government-owned
ARAMCO. King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals, a scientific and technological
research center, is logically located here. Most of the city's 60,000 inhabitants are
employed by the Airport, the
University of Petroleum and Minerals or ARAMCO. A minority are in business, which complements institutional
activity.
